Do I need to do anything to prepare for my massage?

How often should I get a massage?

While many of us would get a message every day if we could… Massage frequency will vary for each client as there are a number of factors that will impact how often you should get a massage.  The frequency of your massage visits often starts with your reason for going to get a massage in the first place. Many people get massages to maintain optimal health and enjoy an hour or two of relaxation. Generally, people who experience light to moderate stress should visit the massage therapist one to two times per month.

Can I talk during my massage treatment?

Sure, if you’d like to talk go right ahead. The important thing to remember is that this treatment is all about you relaxing and enjoying the experience. Many therapists discourage talking in hopes that you will relax, let your mind float free and enter a state of massage bliss. In many instances, people may feel more relaxed starting off talking, and as the massage progresses, enter quiet states of relaxation.

Let your therapist know if you get too warm or too cold, if the room is too bright, or if the pressure needs to be changed (lighter or firmer).

Do I need to do anything after my massage?

After your massage, you should increase your water intake a bit. Just a glass or two more than normal is usually fine. This helps keep your body’s tissues hydrated and healthy.
